SVC at the end of the food sort!

SVC staff and interns headed out to Watsonville on Saturaday Feb. 6th to participate in a food sort at the Second Harvest Food Bank.  Along with other community volunteers,  we were separated into two assembly lines and were able to fill 3,100 bags of food for children and families in need! While it was daunting to face a warehouse full of boxes stuffed with food products, it was extremely rewarding to leave behind an empty room and thousands of bags full of well-balanced meals for our fellow community members! (Check out our pictures to see SVC at work!) If anyone is interested in helping in a similar food sort or volunteering with the Second Harvest Food Bank in general, please contact Danny Robles at (831) 722-7110!

We also want to thank everyone that came down to Pizza My Heart on 2/2 to help us raise nearly $300 for our Alternative Spring Break trip with Habitat for Humanity! We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at more of our upcoming fundraisers!
