Hello SVC followers!

SVC had a very busy weekend between our “Rep Your City” fundraiser dance (3/19), Rio Del Mar beach clean-up (3/20), and the Still Time benefit concert at the Catalyst (3/20)!

We want to thank everyone who came down to our dance on Friday and helped us raise several hundred dollars towards our ASB trip with Habitat for Humanity! We would also like to thank DJ Albert Del Real for volunteering his time, as well as all of the C8 Programs Staff and Senate for all of their time and support that was crucial in making this dance such a success. Check back soon for “Rep Your City” pictures!

On Saturday, SVC headed out to Aptos for the Rio Del Mar beach clean-up with Save Our Shores and spent the morning picking up trash and recycle from the shores. We helped collect a lot of litter and lucked out with a beautiful, sunny day to do some community service on the beach!

If you’re interested in participating in volunteer opportunities such as this one in the future, check out our event calendar on our website or shoot us an email at volunteer@ucsc.edu to be added to our database and receive emails regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities!

Lastly, SVC finished out the weekend with the Still Time concert at the Catalyst on Saturday night. Still Time generously agreed to donate 10% of their concert proceeds to our ASB fundraising efforts, so a special thank you to the band and their manager Jill for their caring and support!

Stay tuned for more news from SVC in the coming weeks including three more ASB fundraisers (Jamba Juice on campus 3/3, Kianti’s 3/3, and Pizza My Heart 3/9), internship positions (applications due 3/5!), and tons of exciting stuff in the works for spring!

Best,

Ali O’Grady
